Ergonomic solutions that improve user comfort and performance.

Overview

Vehicle docking stations for notebooks and tablets improve mobile worker productivity by providing a secure location for charging and connection to essential peripherals, such as printers, keyboards and barcode scanners. With vehicle docks, fleet managers can enhance productivity without sacrificing quality, safety or longevity. Vehicle docking stations replicate your computer’s ports such as USB, Ethernet, and RF and they’re ideal for when you have a printer or other peripheral electronics working with your computer. A cradle keeps your computer safe but doesn’t replicate any of the ports. It’s a better choice for when you simply want to mount a computer without any peripherals. At Rugged Development,  we have Ergonomic vehicle docking solutions that improve user comfort and performance for police enforcement vehicles (MDTs), fire trucks, ambulance and forklifts.

Tough On Safety

Our vehicle docks undergo the toughest testing in the industry, including 30 MPH crash tests and air bag deployment simulations. Vibration tests on our mounting systems simulate impact events and rocky terrain, while rollover simulations ensure your computer won't eject. The locking mechanism on our vehicle docking stations keeps your laptop securely locked, and even strengthens as force is applied in a crash. Havis motion devices also lock into place to prevent accidental swinging and allows your computer to be safely stowed. Havis takes the initiative to define air bag zones for each vehicle, design a possible solution, and test that solution for real world application. Additionally, the plastic siding on our docking stations allows an air bag to brush by without snagging and protects against accidental cuts.

Comfort and Ergonomics Matter

Improperly positioned equipment can cause back, wrist and eye strain, resulting in extreme discomfort and lost productivity. We address these issues with ergonomic solutions that improve user comfort and performance for vehicle docks (MDTs) and forklift mounts.
